Mao Feng means “hair point” or “tip,” referring to golden tea leaf buds created during fermentation stage of manufacture. This rich, venerable black tea from Yunnan, the homeland of tea, is comprised of long, wiry, twisted leaves producing a dark reddish-amber liquor with a sweet, honeyed, malty aroma and a dry cherry tobacco flavor with a smoky accent.
